CCTV Interview With Samuel Ting Ridiculed By Netizens – digg china

This video contains two parts of a CCTV interview with famous Chinese-American Nobel Prize winner and scientist, Ding Zhaozhong. This recent popular KDS topic, “CCTV hosts’ IQs, with pictures there is proof…“,  is responding to the second part of the interview translated below:

CCTV: You are Ding Zhaozhong, Your younger brother is called Ding Zhaohua, and your youngest brother is called Ding Zhaomin–

Ding Zhaozhong: (interrupting) Younger sister.

CCTV: Younger sister. If there were another one, would the name be Ding Zhaozu?

Ding Zhaozhong: (without hestiation) No, the name would be Ding Zhaoguo.

In the first section of the video, Samuel Ting talks about the subjects he was good with in school and his choice between studying science or history:

CCTV: At the time, which subject were you more interested in, in your heart?

Ding Zhaozhong: At least for me, what a middle school student is more interested in is what subject he can get very good grades in without studying a lot. No one get zero points and is still interested.

Ding Zhaozhong: For Chinese history, I often got full marks. And I did not have to work very hard. Physics, chemistry, math, my grades were also not bad. What I was not so good at was called…”Three Principles of the People” and the like… [politics]

CCTV: Then at that time, why did you not choose history?

Ding Zhaozhong: Because I had a kind of feeling that it would be very difficult to find the truth, because with the change of each dynasty and each period in China, the first thing they did was to rewrite history.

全自动背米:

He [the host] was just asking to be insulted/embarrassed. downloading

硕鼠:

Niu person! Though this niu person is qualified to be niu! downloading

上海1945:

The host did not do his homework, asking such a unharmonious question.

封贴无数:

Strong in history and physics, basically can be considered an all-around genius. What more, his weakness is politics, which means he is an all-around genius with a conscience…

lubinchan:

Dr. Ding’s expression in the last picture is a funny contrast with the host’s ugly fart expression before. Haha.

松哥:

The director’s IQ is also low,
not cutting/editing [this part] out.

CCTV hosts are all mental retards.

niceguy:

I hate 嘻嘻踢痿 ["xi xi ti wei", CCTV] the most! A bunch of idiots. At 7:00pm, the first 10 minutes are that the leaders are very busy, going everywhere on official business to tour and inspect. Next is that the people are very happy, everywhere rejoicing about the spring harvest. The final 10 minutes is that the rest of the world is very chaotic, everywhere explosions and riots.
Two words: Ce na!

尼普洛:

downloading I want to see the host’s reaction.

YOYO_ZEZE:

This reporter is too “thirteen” [silly, abnormal, stupid], assuming he [Samuel Ting] would be on the mainland’s side.

“…Because there was no “Guo”, we ran to Taiwan”

CN, his meaning was obvious, yet they [CCTV] still broadcast this. Oh well, what can you do, he is a scientist who has the respect of the whole world.

[Ding Zhaozhong's explanation is a double meaning joke. He is saying "because we did not have this fourth child named 'Guo', we went to Taiwan" which also mean "because Chiang Kai-Shek lost the mainland China, we went with him to Taiwan."]

小心烫口:

I think his brain is damaged, asking such a stupid question, probably using his ass to think up these questions.

lyomancp:

Ding! I saw this interview before, the host and Ding Zhaozhong are completely on different levels, the difference in their IQs like a university student having an exchange with a kindergartener, the host trying his best to curry favor with Ding Zhaozhong but unable to find north [unable to find a way], completely not on the same channel, the host not even reach the edge of Ding Zhaozhong’s thinking.
